APPRENTICE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

About the Role

Working from our project site office in Coventry City Centre you will provide administrative support to our site team. You will be supported in your role by our experienced team in a safe and controlled environment. 

Skills Required

  • Organisational Skills: Being able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and keep track of various responsibilities is crucial. This includes maintaining orderly files, managing schedules, and ensuring that tasks are completed on time.

  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication is vital. This includes both written and verbal communication, as well as active listening. Apprentices need to interact with colleagues, clients, and supervisors and convey information accurately.

  • IT Proficiency: Familiarity with standard office software such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is important. Apprentices should be comfortable using these tools to create documents, manage data, and communicate electronically.

  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy is important in administrative tasks, whether it's data entry, preparing reports, or managing correspondence. Paying attention to detail helps prevent errors and ensures high-quality work.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to think critically and solve problems as they arise is valuable. This includes being resourceful and finding solutions independently when possible.

  • Teamwork: Working well with others and being a cooperative team member is essential. This involves collaborating on projects and supporting.

Personal Qualities

  • Time Management: The ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively is crucial. This ensures that work is completed efficiently and on schedule.

  • Flexibility: Being adaptable and willing to help out where needed is important. Flexibility allows apprentices to handle various tasks and respond to changing priorities.

  • Organisational Skills: Keeping things orderly and systematic helps improve efficiency. This includes maintaining a good filing system and using tools effectively.

  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital. This includes listening, taking instructions clearly, and expressing ideas effectively.

  • PC Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, is essential. Being comfortable with these tools helps in creating documents, managing data, and communicating electronically.

  • Initiative: The ability to work autonomously and take initiative is valuable. You should be able to complete tasks independently and solve problems as they arise.

  • Team Ethic: Working well within a team and contributing to a positive work environment is important. Collaboration and supporting colleagues are key aspects of this skill.

  • Personable Phone Manner: Being customer-oriented and having a friendly phone manner is essential in building positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Apprenticeship Level: 2/3

  • Duration: 18 months

  • Salary: In-line with national minimum wage
