Asbestos Removal Operative
The Role
Fixed term contract for 6-months working within the Cheltenham area. Due to security restrictions you will be required to achieve BPSS clearance. In order to pass security clearance you will be required to provide personal information, including previous employment history, this will only be requested from successful applicants.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Asbestos Site Supervisor you will be responsible for:
Set up and maintenance of asbestos work enclosures.
Use, store and maintain respiratory protective equipment correctly.
Position site equipment, signage, waste routes and transit routes appropriately.
Work in a way that ensures asbestos exposure is prevented or minimised.
Report, record and correct defects with plant, respiratory protective equipment, personal protective equipment and work methods.
Appropriately handle, package and store asbestos waste.
Decontaminate plant and premises.
Carry out effective personal decontamination.
Conform to health, safety and welfare in the workplace requirements
Essential Criteria
In date ARCA / UKATA certification training in asbestos removal
In date CSCS card
Current in date medical certificate
Current in date face fit certificates (Half mask and full face)
Photo ID - Driving Licence or Passport.
Minimum 3 year’s experience in a asbestos removal operative role
Working Hours & Pay
CIS / Subcontractors (no agencies) or PAYE with company benefits
Working hours 0700-1700 Monday - Thursday, 0700-1300 Friday
