HGV & VAN FITTER
Armac Demolition are one of the leading Demolition, Asbestos Removal and Land Remediation companies within the UK. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an experienced HGV and commercial vehicle fitter to join our highly skilled workshop team based at our purpose built maintenance headquarters in Solihull. A good all round knowledge and proven experience is expected. Applicants must also have the ability to work both on their own initiative and as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Workshop.
As an HGV fitter you will be overseeing regular maintenance activities, 6 weekly inspections, preparing for MOT, servicing, breakdowns and repair. Diagnosing and addressing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and executing repairs on a diverse range of heavy goods vehicles, trailers and vans
Responsibilities
Maintain, service and repair fleet of heavy trucks, low loaders, trailers and light commercials ensuring optimal performance and safety, within our purpose-built workshop
Conduct regular inspections and perform necessary repairs on equipment
Good knowledge of ABS
Class 1 or Class 2 license would be advantageous
MOT Preparation for the vehicles
Servicing and maintaining a fleet of Scania trucks & low loader trailers
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Must have a full UK driving licence (HGV class 1 or 2 an advantage but not essential)
Be able to service, diagnose and repair HGV’s, trailers and light commercial vehicles
Proven experience in a similar role
Strong troubleshooting skills to Diagnose and resolve issues efficiently and carry out repairs
Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
A proactive, safety-conscious attitude and excellent fault-finding skills.
